Description

  • Thrift2Gift is a non-profit Christian thrift store in Cary with the mission of helping children and families in crisis situations.
  • Primary role of this position is to disciple women in their walk with Christ. We are seeking someone who is comfortable sharing their faith and engaging with people of all faith backgrounds. Candidate must have a strong personal walk with Christ and feel a strong call to ministry and discipleship.
  • While primary role of this position is to direct and disciple small groups of volunteers, secondary responsibilities include running the register and assisting customers.
  • Ability to work with many types of people groups and ages with the goal of sharing our faith in Christ when appropriate with permission and meeting the volunteers where they are in their life.
  • Candidate must be strong in their faith and share common values with our organization as to effectively carry out our mission
  • Candidate will also need strong managerial and communication skills as they will be in charge of leading and directing groups of volunteers and 
  • community service workers.

Schedule:

This position can be full or part-time between 15-40 hours/week. However, both positions MUST be able to work most evenings (at least 3-7pm) and most Saturdays (10-6pm). We are closed Sundays. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Coordinate Daily objectives and tasks with Store Manager & managing small groups of volunteers 
  • Train, work alongside and supervise volunteers in the clothing areas on a daily basis
  • Train volunteers in the areas of sorting, hanging and racking clothes on sales floor
  • Responsible for overall look and cleanliness of the clothes racks in the store
  • Responsible for merchandising and displays
  • Check the floor in the morning and many times during the day for order and cleanliness
  • Communicate with Store Manager areas for restocking clothes 

Education and Experience:

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED at a minimum
  • Preferably have a minimum of 2 years retail and/or non-profit volunteer experience
  • Must be very computer/smart phone proficient

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Must be enthusiastic and able to motivate others
  • Ability to handle multiple requests from staff and volunteers
  • Must be in good physical condition
